My Teaching Philosophy

Meet Ms Melanie Bergenhagen

Welcome. My name is Ms Melanie Bergenhagen. I teach Kindergarten at G. Frank Davidson Elementary. This is second year here. I was born and raised in Fargo, ND. My parents are divorced so I'm lucky enough to have two great families. My mom lives in Arizona with my step-dad and three brothers. My dad lives in Florida. I love them all greatly.

I graduated from Fargo North High School and then continued my education to Minnesota State University Moorhead. There I studied Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I am looking forward to going back and getting my Masters in the near future in either Educational Technology or Administration. I haven't completely decided which since I'm interested in both.

Some of my hobbies include playing around on my computer, building my website, looking for new teaching ideas, playing tennis, reading, going to movies, going to sports games, and being with friends and family.

Most of all though, I enjoy working with students. Even though I am their teacher, they are able to teach me so much. All children are precious (including the difficult ones).

Here are some pictures to help you get to know me a little better.

This is my 2nd year teaching Kindergarten in Arizona and I love it.

We use a lot of different technology in our classroom. The favorite is the Activboard. Picture is not of our room.

This is my mom, Marlys, and step-dad, Brian.
They live in Arizona with my three brothers.

Picture of my dad, Gary, coming soon.
He currently lives in Florida.

I have one very stubborn cat named Missy Mae. We do not keep her in a cage. This was taken during our trip to Arizona after she decided she wanted to drive.

I finished my Bachelors in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I am really happy to have double majored. I will be going back for my Masters in Education Technology once I get my foot in the door teaching.
